Important Update (My 40hr Job)
Monday, June 08th, 2009 | Author: FwHilton

Because of the TD Banknorth and Commerce Bank merger that took place. My department has been asked to move to New Jersey. Seeing I live in Maine and my family is all up in this direction, I have declined to go down to NJ.

I am currently employed as a Database/Reporting developer with TD Bank. I will no longer be employed on July 17th. Even though I will recieve severance, I will be out of a job then. However, I am not one bit anxious about this at this time. I am looking forward to doing something new and exciting!!!

So, what does that mean for my partime business, TechniPixel Solutions? Nothing!!!

I will still continue on with it. As a matter of fact, this may be the time to market myself a little better. I know the economy is in rough shape, but we will see what fate has in store for me. I am opened to anything at this point. This is a great time to try something new and challenging!!!

If anyone has any contract work that they want to send my way, please contact me.

Thanks for your support

Update Countdown Clock
Wednesday, June 03rd, 2009 | Author: FwHilton

We have updated our flash based Countdown Clock with a bug fix and a graphic cosmettic change. We lightened the “glass” look white area to be a little lighter. We also fixed a bug with the “Days” number display. If you set days in the xml to two digits, it would add an extra zero on the display.

We have added a new web hosting option. We now provide FREE hosting for a one page site only — developed in Html or Flash.

The only cost is that a customer would have to pay for the development and editing of site. The only requirement is that we place our ad on your page.

Transparent Flash Issues
Friday, March 06th, 2009 | Author: FwHilton

After creating a Flash PagePeel with no script involved, I have just discovered that transparent Flash has issues in FireFox, Chrome, Safari and most mozilla based browsers.

The issus is not that the Flash can not be transparent on top of html content, but that you can not click any links if they are under the transparent area of the SWF file itself. Thus… inaccessible links.

I have not found a solution to this issue. If anyone knows how to get by this please leave a comment. Until then, transparent Flash is only useable on IE (75% of market share anyways).

New Page Peel Away Ads
Wednesday, February 18th, 2009 | Author: FwHilton

We here at TechniPixel are always looking for new exciting things. There is a new craze of advertising call “Peel Away Ads.” These ads usally are located in the top right or left of a web page that has a small page “ear.” When a user rools there mouse over the page ear, the page peels back to reveal an ad.

We developed one for ourselves totally from the ground up. However, ours doesn’t use any scripting or php to use and ours is very easy to setup with just a simple DIV style/css tag.

We are offering anyone who donates $5.00 or more to TechniPixel is get thee own Page Peel ad free! All you have to do is supply the ad design (or we will make it) and we will send you a zip file of the Page Peel solution.
